Why Crowd Pops and Bat Flips?

For six years, I was a writer, editor and executive for a number of sports websites, chiefly covering Major League Baseball. I don't hide my partiality toward the Milwaukee Brewers, but I'm not a homer, either. I love the game, its history, inherent past and present tensions and savor great writing about it all. I also love a good bat flip.

Ever since I was a boy, I've had a soft spot for professional wrestling, growing to appreciate its storytelling, characters and performances as an artform. A crowd pop still sends chills down my spine.

So, to borrow from Rogers Hornsby, sort of: "People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I watch wrestling." So during baseball season, we'll talk ball and occasionally talk wrestling. In the offseason, we'll talk wrestling and occasionally talk ball.

Crowd Pops. Bat Flips. If you love either, or better yet, both, I'd love to have you along for the ride.
